Armenia and Iran are drafting a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement that would significantly deepen bilateral ties, Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Khalil Shirgolami, said.

According to the ambassador, the agreement is expected to elevate relations to a new level and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

“Our desire and determination to institutionalize Armenian-Iranian cooperation through a strategic partnership agreement are very serious and resolute,” Shirgolami said.

He added that during last week’s meeting with Nikol Pashinyan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also underscored the importance of the agreement and called for work to be completed as soon as possible.
