India may offer Armenia an export version of its Pralay tactical ballistic missile with a range of around 290 kilometers, the Indian Defence Research Wing reported.
According to the publication, Yerevan and New Delhi are in talks on a possible supply of the system as part of rapidly expanding military and defence cooperation. No official contract has been announced.
Pralay is a mobile, solid-fuel, surface-to-surface quasi-ballistic missile developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation. It is designed for precision strikes against military targets and can manoeuvre in flight, making interception more difficult. An export variant would be limited to roughly 290–300 km to comply with Missile Technology Control Regime rules.
The Armenian Armed Forces already operate Russian-made Iskander-E tactical ballistic missiles with a reported range of around 280 km. Those systems were acquired during the presidency of Serzh Sargsyan. Armenia also fields older Tochka-U systems with a range of up to about 120 km.
