An Israeli airstrike struck an apartment behind Mirna Shalouhi, near Beirut’s Armenian-populated district of Bourj Hammoud, at dawn, according to local reports.

The strike occurred near Bourj Hammoud, not inside the district itself, though the area lies very close to one of Beirut’s best-known Armenian population centers.

The Lebanese-Armenian newspaper Aztag Daily confirmed that the attack caused damage to a residential building but reported no Armenian casualties.

The incident comes amid a broader escalation between Israel and Hezbollah across Lebanon. Israeli strikes have heavily targeted southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.

According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, the ongoing hostilities have resulted in hundreds of deaths and more than a thousand injuries, with large numbers of civilians displaced as the conflict expands.

Lebanon has also seen a massive humanitarian impact. Authorities report that hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes, with many seeking refuge in temporary shelters across the country.

Until now, Beirut’s Armenian-populated neighborhoods, including Bourj Hammoud, had largely remained outside the direct strike zones. However, the latest strike near the Armenian district has heightened concerns among residents as the conflict continues to spread.

Armenian community institutions and organizations in Lebanon are closely monitoring the situation while preparing to assist civilians should displacement reach Armenian-populated districts.
