Armenia international Finn Geragusian has signed his first professional contract with Sunderland AFC, the club announced.
The 18-year-old striker continued his impressive rise through Sunderland’s academy last season, scoring 13 goals and adding three assists after registering 19 goal contributions during the 2024-25 campaign.
Geragusian also reached another major milestone in his career last season by earning his first senior call-up to the Armenia national team. He made his international debut against Belarus in March.
His first professional contract comes as Sunderland prepare for a campaign that will feature both Premier League and UEFA Europa League football after an outstanding 2025-26 season, during which the Black Cats secured promotion to the Premier League and qualified for European competition.
Speaking after signing the deal, Geragusian said reaching the milestone was a proud moment and thanked Sunderland’s coaching staff and his family for their support throughout his development.
“I’m really proud of myself. The coaches and all the other staff have helped me out, and a big shout out to my family as well who have supported and pushed me this season. I’ve had some great opportunities and experiences, and hopefully now I’ll be able to have many more this season,” he said.
Sunderland Academy Head John Hewitson praised the young forward’s development, saying his progress over the past two seasons reflects his dedication and work ethic. He added that the club is delighted Geragusian will continue his development at Sunderland.
