Armenia’s National Assembly has elected Artsvik Minasyan of the “Armenian Revolutionary Federation” (ARF) and ruling “Civil Contract” representative Shushan Sargsyan as members of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission through a secret ballot.
Minasyan was the joint candidate of the opposition “Armenia” and “Strong Armenia” parliamentary factions. He previously served as Armenia’s Minister of Economy in 2016 and Minister of Nature Protection from 2016 to 2018.
Sargsyan has served on the commission since May 2021, with the latest vote securing her continued membership.
The commission is responsible for regulating market competition, investigating anti-competitive practices, and protecting consumer interests. Its responsibilities include addressing unfair business conduct, market dominance abuses, and violations of competition regulations.
