Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan last week traveled to welcome the new asphalt project taking place in the Ararat Province. The major project just shy of $4 million dollars was awarded to a company called “Eurosphalt”. Miraculously Eurosphalts won the bid by a razor thin margin of $1000 below the lowest bidder.
It appears in less than 2 years, “Eurosphalt” has been the winner for two of the largest projects accounting to more than $7.5 million dollars. Civilnet reports, Eurosphalts is registered to two women by the name of Svetlanna Kamo Poghosyan and Greta Sargsy Tadosyan, yet the company is reportedly owned by none other than Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan’s brother Karlen Simonyan. Below you can see the Prime Minister being welcomed by a group of men including Karlen Simonyan at the site of another contract won by “Eurosphalt”.
So are you hiding the fact that past leaders didn’t hire their buddies for government projects?
