ICRC visits current and former Artsakh leaders who have been illegally detained in Baku.
They were also able to speak to their family members. APA reported the news citing ICRC the representative office in Azerbaijan.
The last ICRC visit to the illegally detained was in late February.
Baku continues to keep more than 30 Armenian POWs from the 2020 Artsakh War. After the 2020 ceasefire agreement, more Armenians were taken captive until after the 2023 Artsakh War, including Vagif Khachatryan who was being escorted by the ICRC from blockaded Artsakh to Armenia to receive emergency medical attention.
The current and former Artsakh leaders and officials are: Second President of Artsakh, Arkadi Ghukasyan Third President of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan Fourth President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament, Davit Ishkhanyan Former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan Major General David Manukyan, Lieutenant General Levon Mnatsakanyan Former Foreign Affairs Minister of Artsakh, David Babayan
