Just one day after Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on March 15 that all points of their so-called “peace agreement” had been agreed upon, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense began to intensify its disinformation campaign. In the past three days alone, Baku has issued 8 false reports, attempting to create a narrative of Armenian aggression.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense’s claim that, on March 18, at approximately from 16:40 to 18:30, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in the eastern sector of the border is entirely false.

For the third consecutive day (March 16–18), Baku continues to spread disinformation, fabricating false pretexts for potential escalation. Today, March 18, Azerbaijan has issued yet another 3 false report.

Another claim by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, alleging that Armenian units fired on Azerbaijani positions between 01:25 and 12:55 on March 17 in the southeastern and eastern parts of the border, is also untrue.

On March 17, both the Armenian Ministry of Defense and the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMA) refuted Azerbaijan’s allegations of Armenian fire on their positions. Earlier that same day, Azerbaijan issued two more false reports—one at 9:45 a.m. and another at 6:35 p.m.—both of which Armenia’s MoD dismissed as baseless.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani propaganda continues to promote the false narrative that Armenia is preparing to launch an attack in April—an apparent attempt to preemptively justify future provocations.
