Ashot Danielyan has announced his resignation as Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh.
“After lengthy reflection, discussions, and consultations over the past several days, I have decided to resign from the position of Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh,” Danielyan wrote.
Danielyan, a member of the Free Homeland faction, was unanimously elected Speaker of the National Assembly in exile on May 21, 2025, succeeding Davit Ishkhanyan, who has been held hostage in Baku since his capture by Azerbaijani forces in October 2023.
He did not disclose the reason for his resignation.
