Henrikh Mkhitaryan reached 163 appearances in UEFA club competitions on September 8 after coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute for Inter in their 2–1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The appearance moved the Armenian midfielder level with Clarence Seedorf for 14th place on UEFA’s all-time club competition appearances list.
Across his European career, Mkhitaryan has represented Pyunik, Metalurh Donetsk, Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Arsenal, Roma and Inter in UEFA competitions.
Mkhitaryan is now just four appearances away from the current top-10 mark of 167, held by Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Buffon and Thomas Müller.
Toni Kroos is directly ahead of Mkhitaryan with 164 appearances. With his next European appearance for Inter, Mkhitaryan would reach 164 matches and move level with Kroos, sharing 13th place on the all-time UEFA club competition appearances list.
