FC Urartu has appointed 33-year-old Armenian coach Hayk Milkon (Melkonyan) as its new head coach, marking his first coaching appointment in Armenia.
Milkon was officially introduced to the Yerevan-based club’s players on November 3. He replaces Robert Arzumanyan, who departed the club on October 28.
The Armenian specialist arrives with coaching experience in Belgian football, having previously served as head coach of FCV Dender.
Before joining Dender, Milkon worked within the Club Brugge system, coaching youth teams and serving on the first-team coaching staff, including during the club’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
Born in Beirut to an Armenian family and raised in Belgium, Milkon holds a UEFA Pro coaching license, the highest qualification in European football coaching.
His appointment marks a new chapter in his career as he takes charge of an Armenian club for the first time.
