Representatives of main Armenian opposition political forces gathered at the residence of “Strong Armenia” leader Samvel Karapetyan on November 4, following his detention earlier in the day.

The meeting, led by Narek Karapetyan and Aram Vardevanyan, brought together representatives of opposition parties and political movements to discuss potential areas of cooperation despite their political differences.

“We have many disagreements, but on several issues, we can reach a consensus. We must consolidate on the points that will be important for our struggle,” Narek Karapetyan said during a live broadcast.

The participating political forces and their identified representatives include:

  • “Armenia” alliance: Anna Grigoryan, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, and Kristine Vardanyan
  • “Hayaqve” initiative: Avetik Chalabyan and Tsolak Akopyan
  • “Country to Live” party: Mane Tandilyan and Mesrop Arakelyan
  • “Prosperous Armenia” party: Arman Abovyan and Iveta Tonoyan
  • “Republican Party of Armenia”: Hayk Mamijanyan and Tigran Abrahamyan
  • “Armenian National Congress”: Levon Zurabyan
  • “Heritage” party
  • “Together” movement
  • “Democratic Alternative” party: Suren Surenyants
  • “New Era” party: Harutyun Harutyunyan
  • “United Armenians” party: Nairi Sargsyan

While the participating political forces have been identified, the complete list of individual attendees has not yet been published.

The gathering follows a large-scale operation involving raids at 65 locations and the detention of Samvel Karapetyan. Investigators have also requested that the Anti-Corruption Court remand Karapetyan in custody.

Karapetyan had already been under house arrest in separate criminal proceedings stemming from his June 2025 arrest after publicly defending the Armenian Apostolic Church amid Pashinyan’s government’s campaign against its leadership.
