A significant discrepancy has emerged in Armenia’s official Election Day figures, with state institutions and election authorities reporting different numbers of eligible voters and polling stations.

As recently as yesterday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 2,485,851 citizens were eligible to vote. The same figure was widely cited this morning after polling stations opened.

The Central Election Commission is now reporting 2,505,102 eligible voters and 2,005 polling stations.

That represents an increase of 19,251 voters and eight polling stations after voting had already begun.

If 2,505,102 was the correct figure, why were state institutions reporting a different number yesterday and earlier today? If 2,485,851 was correct, why was it changed?

The CEC should immediately explain the discrepancy and clarify when the voter roll and polling station totals were finalized.
