Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Armenia on an official visit and was welcomed at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.

During his trip, Pezeshkian will meet with Armenian officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. Speaking to reporters before his departure, he emphasized that the visit is part of a broader initiative to strengthen Iran’s ties with neighboring states.

“This visit continues our policy of prioritizing relations with neighboring countries, in line with the Leader’s vision,” Pezeshkian said. He described Armenia as a “friend and neighbor” with which Iran maintains “strategic relations,” underscoring consistent efforts to advance political, social, cultural, and economic cooperation.

Pezeshkian noted that numerous agreements have already been signed between Tehran and Yerevan, forming the basis for collaboration. However, he stressed that the purpose of this trip is to accelerate their implementation. “This visit is aimed at pursuing and expediting actions and agreements that can be both effective and constructive,” he stated.
