The documentary “There’s No Place Like Home”, which chronicles the forced displacement of Armenians from Artsakh in 2023, concluded its theatrical run at Laemmle Glendale with a special closing ceremony attended by Glendale Mayor Ardy Kassakhian, City Council members, filmmakers, and members of the entertainment industry.

During the ceremony, Mayor Kassakhian presented certificates of recognition to the film’s producers, Diana Madison, Gohar Khojabagyan, Ruzanna Kegeyan, and Shant Petrossian, honoring their efforts to document the experiences of displaced Artsakh Armenians and preserve their stories for future generations.

Directed by Diana Madison, the award-winning documentary features firsthand accounts from survivors of the nine-month Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh and the mass exodus of its Armenian population in September 2023.

Through interviews with displaced families, war veterans, activists, and community members, the film explores the human cost of displacement, the loss of ancestral homes and cultural heritage, and the resilience of those rebuilding their lives in Armenia.

The documentary, which won Best First Feature at the Croatia International Film Festival, screened at Laemmle Glendale in October.

The closing ceremony emphasized the role of filmmaking in raising awareness of Artsakh’s history and ensuring that the experiences of its displaced Armenian population are not forgotten.
