The Central Electoral Commission has invalidated the results from two polling stations following complaints filed by the “Independent Observer” election observation mission.

CEC Chair Vahagn Hovakimyan announced that the results from polling station 10/51 in Yerevan’s Nubarashen district were annulled after voters were admitted to the polling station after the official 8:00 p.m. closing time. Materials related to the case have been referred to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The commission also invalidated the results from polling station 35/65 in the Meghri community of Syunik Province, where voting continued late into the night after military personnel entered the polling station before the official closing time.

The invalidated polling stations accounted for:

▫️1,223 votes for the “Civil Contract” Party

▫️528 votes for the “Strong Armenia” Alliance

▫️270 votes for the “Armenia” Alliance

▫️213 votes for the “Prosperous Armenia” Party

The development is particularly significant because the “Prosperous Armenia” Party officially received *58,368 votes (3.996%), a result that the CEC’s published figures place approximately 59 votes below the 4% threshold for parliamentary representation.

The complaints were filed by the Independent Observer mission, whose prominent representative Daniel Ioannisyan, founder of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO, has been a longstanding critic of opposition figures including Robert Kocharyan, Samvel Karapetyan, and Gagik Tsarukyan.

The decision comes as election results continue to face challenges across the country. According to the CEC, 30 recount requests covering 555 polling stations were submitted before the June 9 deadline, representing nearly 28% of Armenia’s 2,005 polling stations.

Several recounts have already uncovered discrepancies between official polling station records and figures published on the CEC website.
