The Baku “court” has rejected the appeals of Armenian hostages and upheld the sentences imposed on February 5, 2026, leaving all convictions and prison terms unchanged.
The following former Artsakh officials remain illegally sentenced to life imprisonment:
. Araik Harutyunyan, former president of Artsakh
. Levon Mnatsakanyan, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Forces
. Davit Manukyan, former deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Forces
. Davit Ishkhanyan, Former Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh
. David Babayan, former foreign minister of Artsakh
The court also upheld prison sentences for the remaining Armenian hostages:
. Arkadi Ghukasyan, former president of Artsakh, and Bako Sahakyan, former president of Artsakh: 20 years
. Madat Babayan and Melikset Pashayan, former military officers: 19 years
. Garik Martirosyan, former military officer: 18 years
. Davit Allahverdyan and Levon Balayan, former military officials: 16 years
. Vasiliy Beglaryan, Gurgen Stepanyan, and Erik Ghazaryan, former military officials: 15 years
In a separate case, the Baku “court” also rejected Ruben Vardanyan’s appeal, leaving in place the illegal 20-year prison sentence imposed on the former Artsakh state minister and Armenian philanthropist.
