The “Wings of Unity” party, led by former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, has announced its readiness to join Armenia’s opposition unity initiative, accusing Pashinyan’s government of using political repression to weaken resistance to constitutional changes demanded by Azerbaijan.

The announcement follows the November 4 joint declaration by opposition forces calling for nationwide unity against constitutional changes demanded by Azerbaijan, unilateral concessions, attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Church, and restrictions on democratic freedoms.

In its statement, “Wings of Unity” accused Pashinyan’s government of presenting Azerbaijan’s demands as necessary conditions for peace while portraying those opposing them as obstacles to peace.

The party rejected abandoning Armenia’s Declaration of Independence, warning that accepting foreign demands would invite further concessions.

It also addressed the November 4 investigative operations targeting opposition leader Samvel Karapetyan and his associates, arguing that their scale and political circumstances suggested an effort to weaken opposition resistance and facilitate constitutional amendments.

Although the party learned of the opposition’s joint declaration through media reports, it expressed readiness to participate in coordinated political action despite previous disagreements.

“Our goal is joint political work and coordinated actions to defend Armenia’s sovereignty and constitutional order, strengthen national solidarity, and achieve a dignified and lasting peace without external coercion or concessions at the expense of national and state interests,” the party stated.
